Supplements

  1. Are Edmundson Grass-Fed beef ever supplemented?

Yes.  During the winter months, if the weather gets very cold and snowy, the grass-fed beef will be supplemented with alfalfa.   If the cattle are supplemented, they are fed out on the range and never confined.

This follows the standards of the American Grassfed Association, which approves alfalfa hay as an "approved non-forage supplement given during periods of inclement weather".

During the last 5 months of their lives, our grass-fed beef receive nothing but grass eaten off the range, which far surpasses the standards set by the American Grassfed Association which defines the finishing period as the last 200 pounds of weight gained before processing.

Selling live beef

  1. Do you sell live grass-fed beef?

Yes.  We have had several requests to sell our grass-fed beef prior to processing.  We can do this using the certified scales on our ranches.  You will need to be present at the weighing and then can haul the steer off yourself.

  2. Can we buy a whole beef from you and then butcher it on your ranch?

No, I am sorry we cannot allow anybody to butcher their beef on our ranches.
